Grit and Grace

Hi, I’m Francie Kleckley.

In my 36-year career as a civil servant for the United States Department of Treasury, I rose in the ranks while balancing the demands of a single mother to two children.

I know money like few do thanks to my career, along with a style of leadership, negotiation, and the ability to work with anyone that will be invaluable in my role as State Senator.

The high demands of my career gave me grit, but the difficult balance of single motherhood showed me grace. To see real change in Columbia, we need leaders who display both.

Why I’m Running

I lost my daughter Kathryn to breast cancer two years ago. She was always so courageous and full of life; the type to run towards problems, not away from them.

We’ve got a lot to love about South Carolina - but a lot to work on, too. I want to be able to tell my granddaughter Collins that “Kitty” did her part to make her world a better place.

So, with Kathryn as my inspiration and strength, I am running to make a difference and to make Collins proud.

My Focus

  • Our Families

Healthcare: It shouldn’t be so expensive to care for yourself and your loved ones when you need help most.

Education: Every child deserves a high-quality education — no matter their zip code.

Cost of Living: We need to make life easier and more affordable in District 10.

  • Our Freedoms

Public Safety: No one should feel unsafe in their own neighborhood.

Reproductive Freedom: Big government and extreme politicians have no place in the doctor’s office. I'll protect women's privacy, healthcare, and access to birth control and IVF.

Equal Rights: Folks should be free to live, work, and thrive — no matter what they look like, where they come from, or who they love.

  • Our Futures

Economy: Our economy must work for working families.

Infrastructure: It shouldn’t take so long to get where you want to go.

Climate: We need to keep our communities healthy and habitable for generations to come.

“The people of South Carolina are tired of the division and discord in the Statehouse.

Enough is enough.

It’s time to focus on more of what really matters, for our families, our freedoms, and our future.”
